Rainforest B&B and café
Gold Coast Hinterland - Queensland
Rosellas at Canyon Lookout is a fully licensed cafe with 3 ensuite guest rooms in a
renovated homestead built in the 1930's. It is one of the few remaining buildings of the original Springbrook settlement. The establishment has been running as a guest house/ restaurant / cafe since 1939.
The home includes owner accommodation with a bedroom, lounge and bathroom. The café seats 35 inside, 10 on the verandah and 25 in the outdoor paved garden area. The business includes a gift shop that features local crafts and Australiana collectables.
The property has a garden with beautiful old rainforest trees, flowering shrubs and ferns.
The abundant birdlife that visit the garden have become a special tourist attraction and
lend their name to the home. There are 2 toilets for cafe customers and parking for 5 cars (most patrons park in the public car park at the lookout.)
BUSINESS
Rosellas has built a reputation for good food, comfortable accommodation and a friendly atmosphere. Patrons include bushwalkers, backpackers, overseas tourists, couples, retirees, holiday makers staying at Springbrook B&B's, families from the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Northern NSW and plenty of regular locals.
The long term prospects for the business are excellent due to the fact there is very little competition and a growing demand for what this business offers. The City Council regulations and State Government planning policy are restricting new commercial developments on Springbrook Mountain yet people from the population centres on the coast will continue to come to enjoy the views and the beautiful environment.
LOCATION
Rosellas is located on the upper section of Springbrook Mountain, the closest wilderness area from the Gold Coast which is a rapidly growing city of 600,000 people with an international airport and railway connection to Brisbane. Visitor numbers to Springbrook have been steadily growing as more people seek Ecotourism options. Springbrook is only a 30 min drive from the Gold Coast and 80 mins to Brisbane.
The rainforest has been placed on the World Heritage list and provides tourists with an experience of a fascinating and unspoiled environment. The people of Springbrook regard the beauty and tranquillity of the mountain as a precious resource.
Rosellas is directly across the road from the accessible Canyon Lookout with its spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, Gold Coast City, hinterland forests, waterfalls and the sheer walls of the Canyon. The lookout is the starting point for walking tracks which are maintained by the Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service.
Beside good prospects for the business Rosellas represents a unique piece of real estate with its position next to spectacular Canyon Lookout.
